Tom Martin

Donor Hero

“Tom passed away on June 8th, 2022, in a motorcycle accident. Tom was passionate about organ donation, and we felt at peace that it was the right choice. Even though it was one of the hardest things for us as a family to go through, we are deeply blessed to know that he helped so many people through his selfless decision. Tom helped many by donating connective tissues, heart valves and both of his corneas. His gifts helped burn victims and restored eyesight for two individuals.” shared Julie, wife of donor hero Tom.

“I enjoy being a part of the We Are Sharing Hope SC community and participating in their events each year like the Race for Life. I count it as a privilege and an honor to share Tom’s story and meet new people who have similar experiences in the donation community. Hearing stories from other donor families and recipients has given me joy in the midst of my grief, and it has been a healing part of my journey. Tom always helped others when he was here on Earth and even in his passing he helped so many. I want to try to do anything I can to help in honor of him.”
